Happy Birthday to The Clocker

Well, The Clocker is another year older (but none the wiser?). He has finally hit early retirement age, which in his case doesn't mean much, since he's been retired for a bout 40 years! Happy Birthday to The Clocker and everyone have a great day Handicapping Harness!!

Bovada Errors

I don't know how many of you Handicap Harness at Bovada, but if you do, I would be interested to hear if you've discovered any payout errors in the recent past. The reason, of course, is that I've found 4 errors in my payouts over the last 30 days. The all involved pick 3 or pick 4 bets and the error typically occurs when 2/3 or 3/4 pays out. Today is a perfect example. I bet the 9th race pick 4 at Saratoga, 6,7/3,7/4,5/3,5 for $1 (total cost $16). It comes 6/3/4/4 (3 of 4) $164. Bovada scores it as a loss. So I have to email them and explain that 3/4 payed out and since I had it twice for $1 I should be credited with the $164. They pay up of course but it's just irritating that this has happened 4 times in the past month (one of the errors was in my favor :).  On another note, if the favorite (3 horse) had won the last leg, I would have won $3,800. He came second though and I got the 3/4 consolation prize. Have a great day Handicapping Harness!

     I think it has been over 30 years since the Estimator was in town..here in Livonia Michigan..for his birthday..Yesterday we fired up the candles....set off the smoke alarm and wished the kid a very Happy Birthday....and many more!

The Strangles Curb Racing

Harness Racing is responding in a proper fashion to limit any exposure to the outbreak of The Strangles at Saratoga Raceway. The Strangles (Strepococcus Equi) is an acute respiratory infection in horses characterized by a fever, lethargy, nasal discharge and swollen lymph nodes. Saratoga has taken the proper action by suspending racing and other tracks are following policy to limit any exposure. The lsit below is by no means all the tracks but gives a general idea on what is being done.

• Harness racing at Saratoga Raceway has been put on hold due to cases of strangles. Racing is expected to resume April 11.

• Monticello Raceway announced today that it is taking precautions to limit its exposure to an occurrence of streptococcus equi, commonly known as strangles, at Saratoga Harness Raceway.

• Scarborough Downs has immediately implemented policies regarding all harness racing horses entering to race or desiring to be stabled at the track.

• Effectively immediately, all horses entering Yonkers Raceway's paddock and barn area shall be required to have a current health certificate. No exceptions are to be made to this edict, which remains in effect until further notice.

The most important thing in this situation is the protection and safety of the horses and the tracks are doing just that.

Tony Morgan at Northfield Downs Tonight

     Anthony Morgan will be making a rare appearance at Northfield Downs tonight in quest of hitting the #14,000 win of his career...His parents and friends are expected to be on hand as Tony the Teamster is listed in all 13 of Northfield's races and the usual stars  of Dan Noble, Aaron Merriman and Dan Charlino are racing elsewhere today...that should open things up for Tony who needs just 2 wins to reach his next magic number....I think he will get those two wins and maybe a few more...but don't go gaga over Tony...take a look at young Tyler Smith for some overlays as this youngster is making a lot of visits to the winner's circle and with some very nice prices.....Good Luck Tony Morgan and all of you Handicappers...have a great day Handicapping Harness...Good Luck!
